LAGS Members & Volunteers in 2021
We are a gardening society at Loughborough University, set up as an arts project in spring 2010 and constituted as a student society at the beginning of the academic year of 2010/11. Our first few mixed veg and herb beds were soon extended, with plants we grew ourselves, either from seeds or from cuttings.
We have taken part in the RHS East Midlands in Bloom contest It’s Your Neighbourhood for many years, gaining the highest levels available for the last 5 years, and we achieved very high marks especially in environmental responsibility.
Our members are mainly undergraduate and postgraduate students, many of them international. The number of non-students increased as a result of the Fruit Routes project (2012) which brought many Loughborough residents onto campus.
